William Floyd Naramore, beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023, at the age of 75. Born on August 8, 1948, in Collierville, TN, to Oscar and Minnie Naramore. Floyd was a cherished member of his community in Water Valley, MS.
Floyd led a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He longed to be remembered as someone who loved others and would help them in any way he could. A kindhearted man, Floyd loved his family with his whole heart. His life in pictures reveals the special place each of his children and grandchildren held in his life. He also enjoyed the companionship of his trusty dog, Minnie Pearl.
Floyd was an industrious man and dedicated his career to the lumber manufacturing industry, where he excelled as a shipping supervisor. His work ethic and unwavering commitment made him highly respected by his colleagues. Outside of work, Floyd had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. He found great joy in the great outdoors and delighted in spending time camping and fishing. He also grew a garden each year and shared the bounty of his labor with family and friends.
We remember and honor Floyd not only as a cherished member of his family and our community but also as a brave veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Army. He enlisted on November 15, 1968, and honorably discharged on November 14, 1974, achieving the rank of SP 4.
As we celebrate the life of William Floyd Naramore, we invite friends and loved ones to join us in honoring his memory. A visitation will be held in the Gardiner Room at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 29, 2023, followed by a funeral service celebrating his life at 2:00 pm in the Henry Chapel, with Rev. Brennan Allen officiating. Seven Oaks Funeral Home, Water Valley, is in charge of the service.
Left behind to cherish Floyd’s memory are his children Sheila Naramore, Randell Naramore, and Travis Hendricks; their mother, Betty Naramore; his grandchildren Courtney Winters, Bryr Banton, Paxton Naramore, Mac Wallace Naramore, and Bryce Hendricks; a host of special nieces and nephews; and cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Buck Naramore, Willard Naramore, Archie Naramore, Jerry Naramore, Wallace Naramore, Sandra Keel, Hazel Harwell, and Vivian Terry.
