William Aubrey Avant

William Aubrey Avant Jr, born August 3, 1946; went home to be with the Lord on Sunday August 6, 2023 at the MS Veterans Home in Oxford. MS after a brave battle with an extended illness.
Known to everyone as “Sonny” William was a hardworking dependable man who would help anyone who needed it without question. He was a 2nd generation proprietor of Avant Farms, as well as a 23 year Vietnam and Desert Storm Army veteran & a member of the Pine Valley Volunteer Fire
Department; he was also the president of the Pine Valley Historical School house Association and the Cattleman's Association. Sonny was a devout Christian and a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Pine Valley. Sonny enjoyed working with his hands and was always proud of a job well done. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.

Sonny leaves behind one son, David Lyn Avant (Tracie) of Pine Valley; four grandchildren, Katie Fowler (Keltrick), Kevin Avant, both of Water Valley, Cheyenne Fair (David) of Knoxville and Jonathan Pruitt of Byhalia; one brother, Harry Avant; as well as one great-granddaughter, Aaliyah
Harden; and 4 nieces.

Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Goodnight & William Avant Sr, as well as one brother, Joe Avant (Vietnam)

Visitation is planned for Friday, August 11, 2023, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM.

Burial will be in Turkey Creek Cemetery.
