Wanda Fay Leister, age 78, of Beaverton, AL died peacefully Friday, November 22, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center with family by her side. She was born September 2, 1941 in Brighton, TN to the late James and Mattie (Carrington) Fike and spent her career in the service industry. She enjoyed researching her family tree, going on trail rides, and reading cookbooks. Before moving to Alabama, she was a member of Second Baptist Church in Water Valley.
Visitation is planned for Tuesday, November 26, 2019 in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM. Services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Billy Childs officiating. Interment will be in Forrest Memorial Park with “Chop” Bradley, “Country” Smith, James Thompson, Justin Tucker, Dillon McCachren, and Jay Tucker serving as pallbearers.
Wanda is survived by her partner of 22 years, Jerry Foster, of Beaverton, AL; one son, Joe Miles (Connie); six daughters, Phyllis Haley (Tom), Vaiden McCachren (Alex), Ruth Henley (Dale), Bitt Smith, Kandy Smith, and Tammy Quarles (Mike); one brother, James Fike (Barbara); two sisters, Irma Glover (Bobby), and Mary Ann Perry (Tommy); as well as twenty grandchildren; and thirty nine great-grandchildren.
Wanda was preceded in death by both of her parents.
