Walter Everett Musick, age 96, of Oxford, MS died peacefully Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the Veterans home in Oxford, MS. He was born November 25, 1923 in Tula, MS to the late Emmett and Ethel (Welch) Musick and honorably served our country in World War II. Later, Walter retired from Kimberly Clark in Memphis TN as a supervisor. Until his health failed, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He had attended church at Terza Methodist as well as Sylva Rena Baptist church.
Visitation is planned for Saturday, March 7, 2020 in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Shane Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Sylva Rena Cemetery with Matthew Moore, Milton Johnson, Ricky McDaniel, Drew Ledbetter, Kevin Cooley, and Joey Ledbetter serving as pallbearers.
Walter is survived by three step-sons, Larry Moore (Diane) of Pontotoc, MS, Tommy L. Moore, Walter C. Moore (Tait) all of Batesville, MS; one step-daughter, Pat Ledbetter (Sam) of Walnut Ridge, AR; three grandchildren, Ashley Leitch, Gail Booth, Lacey Clay; thirteen step-grandchildren; numerous great grands; and one daughter-in-law, Becky Moore.
Along with his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his first wife Gladys; his second wife, of fourteen years, Lorene Moore Musick; one son, Walter Gale Musick; one step-son, William L. Moore; two brothers, Elbert and Milton Musick; one sister, Lavern Dillard; and one daughter-in-law Sissy Moore.
