Ruby Melinda Redwine

Melinda Redwine, age 64, of Water Valley, MS died July 9, 2022, at Diversicare Living Facility in Eupora, MS. She was born May 9, 1958, in Greenville to the late Henry Cortesi and Sarah (Pipkin) Cortesi. While in the hospital in 1977, Melinda had a blind date with a young man by the name of James "Kenny" Redwine. From that chance encounter, a romance ensued and a few months later the two were married and began their family. Melinda whole heartedly loved her family and graciously served them as a homemaker. In 1993, after only sixteen years of marriage, Kenny passed away unexpectedly leaving her to raise their girls. After the girls were grown, Melinda moved to Starkville, MS and worked as a house keeper, and dog sitter. When time allowed, she loved playing bingo, watching Gunsmoke and John Wayne movies. But nothing held a deeper place in her heart than that of her family.

Visitation is planned for Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Billy Childs officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery Cemetery.

Melinda is survived by 2 daughters, Regina Redwine, Hayley Redwine; one brother, Billy Cortesi; 2 sisters, Louise Morgan, Christine Rogers; one grand-daughter, Kennedy Dehetre; and a host of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

As well as her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Redwine; two brothers, Roy Cortesi, Charles Cortesi; and one sister, Mary Muirhead.
