Ronnie Lee Green

Ronnie (Ron) Lee Green, age 73, an esteemed member of the Water Valley community, passed away on February 3, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born on February 16, 1950, in Nashville, AR, to the late Dean and Cleta (Gallaher) Green.

Ron lived a life filled with purpose, exemplifying qualities of kindness, compassion, and generosity. With an outgoing nature, he had a genuine love for connecting with others and brought warmth to every interaction. His dedication to his family and community was unwavering, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Following his graduation from high school in Little Rock, AR, Ron pursued higher education, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. He carved out a successful career as an engineer in the nuclear industry, retiring with honor from the Entergy Grand Gulf Nuclear Plant. His expertise and commitment were held in high regard by his colleagues and peers.

In addition to his professional achievements, Ron was deeply involved in his faith. He served as a bible teacher, deacon, and music leader in the Church of Christ, where he touched the lives of countless individuals through his spiritual guidance and devotion.

Ron's passion for serving extended beyond his professional and faith communities as he proudly served in the Navy from 1971 to 1977.

Ron was a man that found it difficult to be still, so in his free time, he had begun exploring the joy of wood working. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with family.

The memory of Ron Green will forever be cherished by his loving wife, Sharon; children, Michelle Croenne (Dave) of Lake City, FL, Daniel Green (Joley) of Norman, OK, David Green of Water Valley, Sarah Green of Itta Bena, MS, Rachel Sykes (Mikel) of Grenada, MS; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many special family members.

Along with his parents, Ron was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Warren Wayson; and one brother, Dennis Green.
