Robert Edward Montgomery, Jr, a husband, father, and friend, peacefully passed away on December 27, 2023, at the age of 79. He was born on April 14, 1944, in Memphis, TN, and resided in Water Valley, MS at the time of his passing.
Robert, lovingly known as Ed, will be dearly missed by his devoted wife, Agnes Montgomery. They shared a lifetime of memories and love together. Throughout their years, Ed and Agnes created a strong bond that remained unbreakable until the end.
Ed's passion for golf was unparalleled. He found joy in spending countless hours on the golf course, perfecting his swing and challenging himself on each hole. He was a true sportsman and enjoyed the friendly competition with his golfing buddies.
After years of hard work and dedication, Ed retired from Tennessee Valley Power Plant in Memphis as an electrician. His skills and expertise were highly valued, and he made lasting contributions to his profession. Always a diligent worker, Ed approached every task with precision and a strong work ethic.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Ed was known for his lively personality and his ability to bring laughter to any gathering. He had a unique talent for engaging in playful banter and talking junk with his friends. His quick wit and infectious sense of humor uplifted those around him and left a lasting impact on the lives he touched.
Ed's life will be celebrated in a service at Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 2:00 pm. Friends, family, and acquaintances are invited to pay their respects and share their cherished memories of Ed on this solemn occasion.
