On January 14, 2024, the world lost a bright and beautiful soul, as Raven Elliece Scroggins tragically left us. She was born on February 12, 2006, in Oxford, MS, to her loving parents, Thomas Scroggins and Laura Perkins. The passing of this remarkable young woman has left her family, friends, and community heartbroken.
Raven, a student at Water Valley High School, displayed wisdom beyond her years. Although she did not complete her formal education, she possessed a natural curiosity and intellect that allowed her to excel within the classroom. Raven had dreams of attending Northwest Community College to pursue a career in cosmetology, a field she was truly passionate about.
While Raven had an unwavering dedication to her studies, she also knew the importance of balance in life. She cherished the company of her loved ones and found solace in their presence. Whether it was spending time with her family or enjoying the laughter of her friends, Raven's smile radiated warmth and joy to all those around her.
Raven was known for her adventurous spirit and love for outdoor activities. Whether she was riding horses, playing softball, or engaging in powerlifting, she approached every new endeavor with gusto and determination. Her fearlessness and drive were truly inspiring, and she never shied away from challenges or pushing herself to new heights.
In her short time with us, Raven touched the lives of so many with her kindness, compassion, and willingness to help others. Her community will forever remember her for her unique sense of humor, infectious silliness, and her ability to make everyone feel at ease. Raven's vibrant personality and spirit will forever remain etched in our memories.
Raven is survived by her parents Tommy Scroggins (Deadra), and Laura Perkins; her siblings Houston Scroggins, Brayden Scroggins, Bella Scroggins, and Aiden Myers; her grandparents Thomas Scroggins (De), John & Annette Reynolds; her aunts Paige Hollinger and Kayla Reynolds.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Mary Griggs.
In this time of immense grief, let us find solace and strength in knowing that Raven will forever be with us, watching over us from above. May her memory serve as a guiding light, reminding us to live each day to the fullest and to appreciate the beauty and joy that surrounds us.
Rest in peace, dear Raven. You will be profoundly missed, but your loving spirit and infectious energy will never be forgotten.
A time of remembrance and visitation will be held in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 6:00PM, Thursday, February 8th, 2024.
