Ralph Craig Mahan, age 80, of Water Valley, MS died Sunday, February 10, 2019 at his home. He was born March 20, 1938 in Lafayette County to the late Jessie and Leliah Cook Mahan. Ralph served our county in the Marine Corps and after an honorable discharge went to work for the railroad.
Visitation is planned for Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM. Services will begin at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Bill Forsyth officiating. Burial will be in Drivers Flat Cemetery with Wayne Burrowes, Josh Burrowes, Matt Burrowes, Scott Story, Michael Stevens, and Hunter Ashford serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearer will be John Stevens.
Ralph is survived by his wife Billie Mahan of Water Valley; two sons, David Burrowes (Rhonda) and Kenny Burrowes (Doris) all of Water Valley; 9 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Roland Mahan; one daughter-in-law, Martha Burrowes; and one sister-in-law, Betty Mahan.
Along with his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Dennis Burrowes; and two brothers Steve and Virgil Mahan.
