Loy C. McMinn, age 85, of Water Valley, MS died peacefully January 23, 2019 at Yalobusha General Care Facility with family by her side. She was born December 29, 1933 to the late Floyd and Clyde Belma McCullar and worked many years as a hair dresser in Memphis as well as Water Valley. Loy loved serving her community and her church. She was a member of the Pink Ladies, Garden Club, as well as a Chamber of Commerce Ambassador. Loy was also a Faithful Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Water Valley, MS. She loved working with her flowers and, being a people person, visiting with and loving on people.
Visitation is planned for Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM. Services will begin at 11:00 AM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Dr. Randy Bain officiating. Burial will be in Jumpers Chapel Cemetery with Steve Hill, Steven Hill, Ricky Hill, Josh Lowery, Blake Lowery, and Blake Edwards serving as pallbearers.
Loy is survived by her husband, Dennis McMinn of Water Valley, MS; three sons, Alan McMinn, and Scott McMinn, both of Memphis, TN, and Tim McMinn, of Water Valley, MS; as well as three grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Loy was preceded in death by one son, Gary McMinn; four sisters, Francis Floyd, Ruth Sweat, Inez Flowers and Mattie Stephens; and two brothers, Stanley McCullar and Hayden McCullar.
