Katherine Anne Hardy

Katherine Anne (Kat) Hardy, 60, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022, in Southaven, MS. A memorial service celebrating the life of Kat will be held Saturday, January 21, 2022, at 2:00 PM. Seven Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Katherine retired from being a Special Education teacher, a passion she held close to her heart. She loved every one of her students, going above and beyond caring for them. She often treated them to “special” days, taking them shopping and enjoying different activities. Katherine is described by her family as being very energetic, creative, kind, and thoughtful. She very much enjoyed working with her hands making different types of crafts. She was also an avid bingo player and loved shopping on Amazon. On a Sunday evening in January of 1971, Kat made a decision that would impact her life for eternity. That evening, Kat surrendered her life to Jesus Christ and has lived in that Grace and forgiveness for the past 50+ years. This week, that decision resulted in one final breath of this earth, then to the very next, in the warm embrace of her Heavenly Father. Kat held a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all but her legacy will live on.


Katherine is survived by her son, Dr. Mike Hardy and wife Melissa, of Coldwater, MS; her grandchildren, Laken, Avery, and Asa Hardy, all of Coldwater; her mother, Glenda Hall Griffith, of Hernando, MS; and her brother, Roger Abernathy.
