James Lee Williamson, age 71, of Atmore, AL went to his forever home Sunday, at Sacred Heart Hospice in FL. He was born November 6, 1950, in Guam, to Dudley C., Sr., and Marie (Manalisay) Williamson. James is described by his family as being a fun, loving dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather. After graduating high school, he joined the Army National Guard with his brother, Dudley C. Williamson, Jr., proudly serving his country as an artillery gunner. He then went on to work for and retire from Miller Industries out of Chattanooga, TN, as a fabricator. In his spare time, James loved spending time at the beach soaking up the sun and watching the waves roll in, occasionally fishing while there. James was also known to be a fantastic cook, to which many people can attest to. He often competed in barbecue competitions at Memphis in May, winning multiples awards for his great food. He will be dearly missed by all those that loved and cherished him.
Visitation is planned for Sunday, August , 7, 2022, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Services will be held Monday, August 8, 2022, at 10:00 AM, in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Billy Childs officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
James is survived by his children, Heather (Travis) Romberger, Robert (Kellie Murphree) Williamson, and James Lee Williamson, Jr.; his grandchildren, Emily Scott, Brooklyn Williamson, Caden Williamson, Megan Romberger, Isabella Romberger, and Amelia Romberger; and his great-granddaughter, Blakely Morrow.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Dudley C. Williamson, Sr., and Marie Williamson; and his siblings, Dudley C. Williamson, Jr., Dolly Williamson, and Vicenta Craigo.
