Hazel Louisa Kinkennon, age 92, passed away September 11, 2022 at Pontotoc Nursing Home. She was born April 3, 1930 in Calhoun County to Callie and Dora Smith. Hazel married the love of her life Jim Kinkennon Decemeber 6, 1947 and had one daughter Linda Gail Jenkins (Mickey) of Pontotoc.
Hazel spent the majority of her life in Water Valley as a homemaker and found great joy cooking and hosting holidays in her home, sometimes sending Jim to the grocery store multiple times to ensure that everyone had their favorite dish. He always obliged, because if you knew Jim, you knew he minded Hazel all the days of their 61 year marriage. She loved a practical joke and was known to play them frequently. Hazel loved her family fiercely and spoke her mind freely. Until her health began to fail, Hazel was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church. She lived a wonderful life and will be missed by all.
