Harold Edward Savage, age 83, of Oxford, MS went to his forever home Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at his home with family by his side. He was born May 25, 1939, in Oxford, MS to Paul Eugene and Irene (Smith) Savage. Harold moved to Chicago at an early age where he began his life-long career in auto mechanics, and later body work. He is described as kind-hearted and a strong-willed Christian man who couldn't pass up an opportunity to tell a corny joke. When he wasn't working, Harold was passionate about bowling and shooting pool, a hobby that he was voted as most valuable player for five years. He also enjoyed watching John Wayne movies and Gunsmoke. He loved his family and enjoyed taking them on camping trips where they would would go fishing in an attempt to catch the "big one."
Visitation is planned for, Friday, August 12, 2022, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 13, 2022, in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks. Burial will be in Camp Ground Cemetery.
Harold is survived by one son, Kurt Savage (Leronda) of Water Valley, MS; four daughters, Colleen Craven, Suzette Dufrene, Denise Welch (Jeff), all of Water Valley, MS, Linda Savage (Bill) of Cedar Lake, IN; one stepson, Danny Lempa (Amanda) of Plano, TX; one sister, Janie Miller (Cecil) of Bruce, MS; twenty-four grandchildren; and twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and a "special family member," Randy Smith.
Along with his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Savage; two sons, Keith Savage, Kenny Savage; and one grandson, Jimmy Yodual; as well as six brothers, and five sisters.
