Gladys Blaker

Gladys Blaker, age 91, of Grenada, MS died Friday, April 19, 2019 at her home in Grenada surrounded by her family. She was born August 1, 1927 to the late Joseph and Louella (Hardy) Wrenn. Gladys was a member of Jumpers Chapel Methodist Church in Water Valley and enjoyed gardening, canning, and visiting with friends and family. Until she retired at the age of 85, Gladys was very fond of working at the local Dollar General.

Visitation is planned for Monday, April 22, 2019 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. An additional visitation will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 23, 2019, with services following at 1:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Rick Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Drivers Flat Cemetery with Michael Potts, J.J. Potts, Pete Potts, David Simmonds, Dustin Potts and Brian James serving as pallbearers.

Gladys is survived by one daughter, Margie Potts French (Ken) of Water Valley, MS; three sons, Rodger Potts (Betty) of Water Valley, MS, James Potts (Robin) and Jimmy Potts (Patty) all of Grenada, MS; ten grandchildren, which included Kim Murphy and Brandi Whitten that served their grandmother as her caregivers; as well as numerous great and great-great grandchildren; one brother, Stanley Wrenn of Strawberry, AR; and one sister, Esther Wrenn of Water Valley, MS

Along with her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husbands, Alvis (Pete) Potts, father of her children, and Alton Blaker; one daughter, Nancy Potts; four brothers, Arthur Wrenn, Roy Wrenn, Coleman Wrenn, and A.J. Wrenn; four sisters, Louise Hendrix, Frances Stroupe, Mary Baddley, and Elsie Allen; and one grandson, Bryan Potts.
