Faye Nolen, age 86, of Water Valley, MS passed away on July 4, 2022, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford with her adoring family by her side. Faye was born on January 27, 1936 in Water Valley, MS, to Doyle Rotenberry and Marquerite (McCullar) Rotenberry. “Meme”, to all that knew and loved her, built her life around the family that she was devoted to. That devotion never wavered as she took care of her husband during the last days of his life. Faye never met a stranger and welcomed anyone into her home with a promise to feed them. She was born and raised in a generation that knew hard work, as was her husband Arthur, that she married July 23, 1954. That work ethic translated over to her secular work at Big Yank, a job she had for over forty years. Faye loved cooking, a passion she regularly undertook at family dinners, and working in her yard, which she was so well known for.
Visitation is planned for Wednesday, July 6, 2022, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Faye is survived by one daughter, Kay Richardson (Walter); two grand sons, Michael Richardson (Leighann), Brandon Richardson (Jessica), two great-grandchildren, Tyler Richardson, Anna Kate Richardson, all of Water Valley; and two sisters, Jo Durham, and Diane Bailey both of Batesville.
Along with her parents, Faye is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Arthur Nolen; two brothers, Charlie Rotenberry, Mack Rotenberry; and three sisters, Peggy Turner, Kay Marberry, and Elaine Mixon.
