Evelyn Quedell Tramel Denton, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on April 18, 2024, in Oxford, MS, at the age of 93. Born in Randolph, MS, to Richard and Ora Tramel on June 6, 1930, Evelyn was a kind and compassionate soul who touched the lives of many.

Known for her unwavering love for her family and her church community, Evelyn's joyous spirit will forever be remembered. Her passion for leading hymns during church services brought solace and inspiration to all those who had the pleasure of hearing her voice. An avid reader, she faithfully read the Bible and sought to apply its truths to her life and to teach others. In addition to her dedication to her church, she found great joy in gardening, in preparing delicious meals in the kitchen, and she demonstrated her creativity through sewing.

Evelyn is survived by her three daughters Darrell Lynn Bonds and Belinda Christman (Gerald) of Oxford, MS, and Joy Dees Beeler (Mark) of Hernando, MS; six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a close, special friend Carolyn Yarbrough.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Darrell Denton; three of her six children; one loved son-in-law; her siblings; and her parents Richard and Ora Tramel.

The family wishes to thank all of the ladies of Lotts of Care and the wonderful staff of Gentiva Hospice for the compassionate care for Evelyn that was such a blessing to her and the family.
