Ernest W. Brasher, peacefully passed away on March 3, 2024, in Heber Springs, AR, at the age of 85 due to natural causes. He was born on November 3, 1938, in Paris, MS, to the late Robert Marshall Brasher and Lottie Mae (Howell) Brasher. Ernest will be remembered for his love of fishing, gardening, and devotion to his family. Ernest was happily married to the late Frances Irene Gandy Brasher for 64 years and worked as a plant supervisor for several companies during his carrier.
He was known as the best fisherman on both sides of the Mississippi and enjoyed sharing his passion for fishing with his children, grandchildren, and many others. Ernest also had a green thumb and found great joy in tending to his garden and watching things grow. But his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.
Ernest is survived by one son, Gregory Wayne Brasher and wife Sharion; one daughter, Sonja Morman Thompson and husband Tyson; two sister-in-laws - Myra Maxine Hurley and Tenie Gandy; one brother-in-law, Carl Dean Gandy; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is planned for Monday, March 11, 2024, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Pastor Dan Billman officiating. Burial will be in Paris Cemetery.
