Christopher Paul Ostrander, affectionately known as "Critter" to his friends, departed this life on January 14, 2024 at his home in Water Valley, Ms. He was born May 5, 1965 in Paris Tennessee to Ronald and Jessie Ostrander. Later he and his family moved to Water Valley where Chris attended Water Valley High School and was a member of the annual staff. He graduated in 1983 and continued his education at Northwest Community College where he earned an Associates Degree. He worked maintenance for a major hotel chain in Memphis for a few years before coming back to Water Valley to work at Borg Warner where he was employed until his health declined. After returning to Water Valley he reacquainted with, and soon married, the love of his life Rhonda. Their blended family provided some of the happiest times of his life.
Chris loved life and had many hobbies over the years. He enjoyed fishing, music, and playing cards with the guys at the American Legion Hut. He also liked tinkering with his truck and more recently he had a real flair for on-line auctions. His quick wit, great sense of humor and infectious laugh will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Jessica Faxon of Water Valley, Christina (Neil) Taylor of Oxford Ms, Dawn (Dusty) Daugherty and Jennifer Mack, both of Senatobia Ms; five Grandchildren, Samantha Faxon, Makenzie Daugherty, Jaxon Johnson, Raiden Taylor and Joseph Taylor; one brother, Terry (Terri) Ostrander of Enid Ms; and one brother-in-law Billy (Emily) Childs of Water Valley. Also his faithful companion Murphy Dawg Ostrander.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Rhonda Jean Ostrander. The family will have a graveside service at a later date.
