It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Paul Gossett, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us on December 14, 2024, at the age of 55. Born in Water Valley, Mississippi, Chris lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the simple joys that brought light to those around him.
Chris was known for his gentle spirit and infectious joy, brightening the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. As a talented technician in the telecommunications industry, he approached his work with pride and dedication, ensuring that those he served felt valued and understood. However, it was his ability to make people smile and create a sense of warmth that truly defined him. Friends and family alike will cherish their memories of Chris strumming his guitar and sharing his passion for music, as well as gathering around his kitchen for a taste of his famous rice dressing.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Mattie Gossett, and their daughter, Lindley Gossett, who were the lights of his life. Chris also leaves behind his siblings, Andy Gossett (Brandye) and Kerri Lynn Wilbourn (Brandon), both of Oxford, Mississippi, as well as his supportive stepfather, Steve McCain (Gretchen). He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jennifer Dale Hughes, whose memory remains in the hearts of their loved ones.
Chris was an animal lover, adored by his beloved bulldogs: Winston, Willow Grace, and Waylon. They brought him happiness and companionship, embodying his love for the simple things in life.
In honor of Chris's life, a memorial service will be held at a future date, where friends and family will come together to celebrate the legacy of a man who was truly one of a kind. Details regarding the ceremony will be announced soon.
In this time of loss, we remember Christopher Paul Gossett not just for the days he spent with us, but for the joy and love he shared in every moment. His light will continue to shine in our hearts, reminding us to find happiness in the little things and to carry on his legacy of kindness and laughter.
