Charles Edward Stewart, a beloved husband, devoted friend, and dedicated member of his community, peacefully passed away on February 8, 2024, at the age of 79. He was born on July 20, 1944, in Hardin County Tennessee to his loving parents.
Charles served his country with honor and distinction as a member of the United States Army dedicating six years of his life to the service before being honorably discharged in 1969.
Following his time in the military, Charles relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, where he found employment at WHBQ radio station. Eventually, he and Charlottie moved to Water Valley where he would work at the local radio station as well as the Mississippi DOT, from which he retired. He had a natural passion for gardening and enjoyed nurturing plants and flowers. Additionally, he possessed a deep appreciation for music and actively served as a song leader and secretary at his church. Charles's vibrant personality, accompanied by his great sense of humor, left an indelible impact on all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Charles will be tremendously missed by his beloved wife, Charlottie Stewart; and one sister, Dorothy Ferland of Lebanon, Maine. In remembrance of his life, a funeral service will be held at First Assembly of God on February 13, 2024, at 1:00 pm. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at the church, beginning at Noon. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with Bo Chinault, Tony Way, Rodney Grey, Keith Prestage, David Stricklin and Justin Gentry serving as pallbearers.
Charles is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Charlottie Stewart.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Clearance and Ruth (Glover) Stewart.
