Charles Edward Burks Jr.

Charles Edward Burks Jr, age 64, of Water Valley, MS died peacefully Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Oxford Health and Rehab. He was born October 16, 1954 in Arkansas to the late Charles Sr. and Irene Burks and worked as a handyman most of his life. He enjoyed western movies, with an affinity for John Wayne, and listening to country music, but nothing held a more special place in his heart than his girls.

Visitation is planned for Wednesday, September 4, 2019 in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. Services will begin at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Virgil Nelson officiating. Afterwards, the family will hold a private ceremony.

Charles is survived by three daughters, Stacy Cofer (Scott), and Sally Burks, all of Water Valley, MS, and Bridgett Skelton (Michael) of Oxford, MS; one brother, Buddy Burks; one sister, Betty Soos both of Cuba MO; as well as seven grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Charles was preceded in death by one brother, Mikel Burks.
