Calvin Miles Hollowell

Calvin Miles Hollowell, age 87, of West Point, MS died peacefully Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley. He was born April 25, 1932 in the London Hill Community of Lafayette County, MS. Calvin worked his entire career as a shipping clerk for the Big Yank Corp, starting in the Water Valley facility and later moving to West Point. He enjoyed all kinds of hunting and fishing.

A graveside service is planned for 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Pinecrest cemetery with Brother Raymond Aven officiating

Calvin is survived by his wife of seventy years, Donna Deckard Hollowell of West Point, MS; one son, Kim Hollowell (Diane) of Water Valley, MS; one son-in-law, Jim Gandy of Potts Camp, MS; four grandchildren, Leafy Studard (Michael) of Potts Camp, MS, Savannah Acuff (Chad) of New Albany, MS, Jesse Gandy of Potts Camp, MS, Stacey Hollowell of Water Valley, MS; four great-grandchildren, Mary-Hannah Hipp of Oxford, MS, Cody Chaney of Memphis, TN, Gabrielle Chaney of Potts Camp, MS, and Maddox McPherson of Memphis, TN.

Along with his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by one daughter, Renee Hollowell Gandy, and three sisters, Juanita Rainey, Dale Sartain, and Ruth Cain.
