Bobbie Jean Avant

Bobbie Jean Carter Avant was born January 9, 1934 to the late Daniel Carter and Mary Dean Miller Carter Taylor. She entered into rest July 16, 2019 in Olive Branch, MS.
A native of Water Valley, she was a Methodist and former member of Miles C.M.E. Church. She was employed by Big Yank and Later, Holley Carburetor.

Bobbie was united in Holy Matrimony to Dudley Avant in 1954. She moved to Toone, TN in 1982 and later Bolivar, TN where she remained until her health failed. She then relocated to Olive Branch with her daughter Patricia.

She enjoyed fishing, working crossword puzzles, and growing flowers.
Bobbie is survived by one daughter, Patricia Pate (Ronald) of Olive Branch, MS; two sons, Danny Avant (Eva) of Sierra Vista, AZ and Ray Avant (Shirley) of Water valley, MS; four grandchildren, Damien Avant (Melissa) of Sierra Vista, AZ, Shalanda Evans (Cornell) of El Paso, TX and Whitney and Shelby Pate of Stockton, CA; as well as seven Great-grandchildren.

She also leaves three step-sisters, Carrie Taylor and Sadie Donnell of Jackson, TN, and Mary Zeigler of Warren, OH; two step-brothers, Joe Taylor of Adairville, KY, and Dean Taylor of Jackson, TN.

In Addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her sister, Deloise Carter Turner and Dudley Avant.
