Bettie Pearl Woodard, age 82, of Water Valley, MS died peacefully Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. She was born June 16, 1936 in Water Valley to the late Clinton and Rachel (Vann) Woodard and worked a number of years in the poultry industry. She enjoyed cooking, serving as an usher at her church, but nothing meant more to her than her family. She was a member of Rocky Mtn. Baptist Church as well as a member of The Order of Eastern Star.
Visitation is planned for Wednesday, May 8th, 2019 in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Services will begin at 11:00 AM, May 9, 2019 in the Water Valley City Auditorium with Rev. George Forrest officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Mountain M.B. Church cemetery Cemetery with Dale Woodard, Edward Sims, Melvin Woodard, Rodney Woodard, Tadryll Woodard and Stacy Woodard serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Wade Woodard, Johnny Woodard, Steve Woodard, Keith Woodard and Frank Belcher.
Bettie is survived by four sons, Wade Woodard (Sandra) of Water Valley, Johnny Woodard (Shelia) of Batesville, Steven Woodard and Keith Woodard both of Water Valley; four daughters, Barbara Person, Hazel Alexander (Cleveland), Joyce Harris (Stacy), and Missy Alford (Aundre) all of Water Valley; 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Bettie was preceded in death by eight brothers, James Woodard, Luther Woodard, Dave Woodard, Clinton Woodard, L.V. Woodard, Bill Woodard, L.D. Woodard, and Alvin Woodard; and three sisters, Ivory Belcher, Mary Tedford, Edith Woodard.
