Barry Clark Tatum, passed away on April 20, 2025, in Water Valley, Mississippi, at the age of 69. Born on August 3, 1955, Barry grew up in Ohio, where he graduated from Vermilion High School. He dedicated much of his life to the oil production industry, working tirelessly on oil rigs in the Gulf earning the respect of his colleagues.
A man of adventure and spontaneity, Barry was known for his love of motorcycles and the freedom he felt while riding the open roads. He often embarked on motorcycle trips that embodied his adventurous spirit and love for life. Barry was not just an enthusiast of the wild; he also had an artistic side, finding joy in drawing and expressing himself through art.
Barry was a loner who cherished his independence and lived life on his own terms. Despite his solitary nature, he was a generous man, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was a proud member of the Eggville Freewill Baptist Church, where he found community and connection.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in Browning Cemetery, with Bro. Shane Crawford officiating.
Barry is survived by his son, Dustin Tatum (Shayla) of Oxford, Mississippi, three cherished grandchildren, and his sisters, Debbie Chaney (John) of Wakeman, Ohio, Anita Tatum of Rocky River, Ohio, and many loving friends.
In this time of reflection, we remember Barry Clark Tatum not just for his work and his adventures, but for the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the spirit that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
