Barry Jones Schmitz

Barry Jones Schmitz, age 53, of Water Valley, MS died Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born September 10, 1965 in Water Valley to the late Whittaker and Ann (Jones) Schmitz and worked at many different jobs during his career, including an being an EMT, and also a school bus driver.

Visitation is planned for Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Services will begin at 11:00 AM Monday August 19, 2019 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Stoney Moorehead officiating. Burial will be in Elam Cemetery in Coffeeville with Gregory Schmitz, Jackson Schmitz, Samuel Schmitz, Josh Snider, Brian Schmitz, and Allen Schmitz serving as pallbearers.

Barry is survived by 3 daughters, Kaitlin Smith (Jon) of Grovetown, GA, Meagan Schmitz of Martinez, GA, and Brittany Green (Devin) of Water Valley, MS; three brothers, Calvin Schmitz (Joyce), and Michael Schmitz (Gina) all of Water Valley, MS, and Jerry Schmitz of Pontotoc, MS; one sister, Jane Snider (Gary) of Water Valley, MS; and three grandchildren, Parker Smith, Cooper Smith, and Easton Green.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Whittaker and Ann Schmitz.
