Aubrey Earl Davis, age 77, of Senatobia, MS died peacefully Thursday, January 10, 2019 at his home with his family by his side. He was born March 16, 1941 in Water Valley to the late James Harold and Alice Wrenn Davis. Aubrey worked over 30 years at Big Yank Mfg. in Water Valley starting as a seam press operator and moving his way up to finishing supervisor before going to work for Springs Industries in Sardis where he worked almost twenty years as a sewing machine mechanic. His joys were numerous, which included restoring automobiles and houses. Aubrey also loved gardening and helping his neighbors, but his family always held a very special place in his heart.
Visitation is planned for Monday, January 14, 2019 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM. Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Dr. Randy Bain and Larry Hart officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with Richard Whiteside, Kevin Whiteside, Nathan Pinkerton, Michael Pinkerton, Kipp Davis, and Earl Davis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Brasure, Gerald Little, Tommy Jackson, Willie Davis, and Bruce Dahlgren.
Aubrey is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Pinkerton Davis of Senatobia, MS; three daughters, Irene Jones (Kevin), Heather Swanson (Brandon) both of Senatobia, and Louise Waters (Shawn) of Hilliard, FL; eight grandchildren, Kane Magee, Macey McNail, Tori Ann Lynch, Avery-Claire Buse, Nickki Swanson, Macey Swanson, Trenton Waters, and Allie Waters; as well as one brother, Ernest Davis of Water Valley, MS.
Along with his parents, Aubrey was preceded in death by one brother, James Harold Davis, Jr; one grandson, Kyle Jones; one nephew, Ernest Davis, Jr; and and an uncle that Aubrey had cared for, Frank Coleman Wrenn.
