Alice Ann Vanlandingham, age 63, of Oakland, MS passed from this life Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born July 20, 1958, in Sparta, IL to the late Daniel and Ola (Metcalf) Boyster. Alice was of the Baptist faith and knew the value of hard work. Until her health failed her, she had worked at Big Yank for over fifteen years, Caterpillar, and then worked in home health care. Her enjoyments we simple things but meant a great deal to her. They included Playing bingo at the VFW, doing wood crafts and enjoying Pepsi Cola. But absolutely nothing meant more to her than her grandchildren.
Visitation is planned for Tuesday, May 31, 2022, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Damon Plummer officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Alice is survived by her husband of 42 years, Leslie Vanlandingham; one son, Leslie Vanlandingham (Amaris) of Southaven, MS; one daughter, Alicia Vanlandingham of Amory, MS; two brothers, Dave Boyster (Chris) of Tilden, IL, Donnie Volner of St. Louis, MO; four sisters, Geretta Botkin (Tom) of Boss, MO, Mary Farmer of Coulterville, IL, Dannie Russell of Indiana, Betty Stringfellow of Lucedale, MS; seven grandchildren, Garrett Vanlandingham, Logan Vanlandingham, Jamey Vanlandingham, Bryson Vanlandingham, Kaiden Spraggins, Kyra Bailey, and Adrian Michaeletti.
As well as her parents, Alice was preceded in death by eight brothers, Billy Boyster, Dennis Boyster, Leslie Boyster, Everette Boyster, Ronnie Boyster, Daniel Boyster, Oscar Boyster, Estol Boyster; and two sisters, Wilma Tyler and Marie Rainey.
