Patsy "Pat" Cosby

Patsy (Pat) M. Cosby, age 61, of Water Valley, MS passed from this life Monday, February 6, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS after an extended illness. She was born June 11, 1961 in Savannah, TN to J.D. and Ruth Lewis. Pat was a fun loving person who possessed a kind and gentle spirit and was always willing to do anything she could to help others. On June 11, 1981, Pat united in marriage to the love of her life, Larry (Crazy) Cosby and started a journey that was as much a friendship as it was a marriage. Pat’s working career varied through the years, but was best known for working at Howard’s grocery on Highway 315. Afterwards she worked for Donna and Rickey Ragon, Valley Tool, ENT office in Oxford as well as Sayle Oil Company. Also, until she fell ill, Pat was a caretaker for her mother Ruth. Pat loved animals , especially her dog Rom, and, even though she never had any of her own, all the “kiddos” (as she called them) in the family and those that she came to know. They always knew they could come to her just to hang out or talk with her, as she was just a phone call away. Pat was a member of the Water Valley Church of Christ.

Visitation is planned for Thursday, February 9, 2023, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A service honoring her life will begin at 2:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks on Friday, February 10, 2023 with Bro. David Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Pat is survived by her husband of 41 years, Larry Cosby; her mother Ruth Lewis; one sister, Deb Peacock, all of Water Valley, MS; two brothers, William (Carlene) Lewis of Pensacola, FL, Robert Lewis of Crump, TN; Nieces and nephews, Chris (Donna) Lewis, Adam Peacock, Carla Lewis, Phillip Lewis, Steven (Stacy) Lewis, April (Brian) Stricklin, Carl (Duck) Lewis; Great nieces and nephews, Brantley (Lauren) Simmons, Logan McAlester, Analeese Peacock, Brody Peacock, Ben Cote, Paris Harrell, Caroline Lewis, Houston Lewis, Hayden Stricklin, Nathan Lewis, Callie Lewis, Lynnden Stricklin,; Great-great-nephew, Boddie Simmons; Best friend Tessa Clement; and a host of other relatives.

Pat was preceded in death by her father J.D. Lewis; one brother, Nicky Lewis; and one great niece, Brittany Simmons.
